Photo & media policy

Track and field is a public sport, and photographs are part of how we celebrate our athletes. Because our athletes are children, we want families to know exactly how we handle images and how to say no.

What we photograph

Coaches, staff and parent volunteers take photographs and video at practices, meets and team events. Meets sanctioned by AAU and USATF are public events, and photographers unaffiliated with the club may also be present. We have no control over images taken by other parties.

Where we use them

• On this website
• On club social media accounts
• In recruiting and informational material for the club

We identify athletes by name only where it accompanies a result or an achievement — a placing, a personal record, a college commitment. We do not publish an athlete’s age, date of birth, school, address or contact details alongside their image.

Consent

Parents and guardians are asked to indicate a media preference when they register their athlete. You can change that preference at any time by emailing hello@metropolisli.org — you do not need to give a reason.

Opting out

If you opt out, we will not publish photographs in which your athlete is individually identifiable. Group action shots taken at public meets may still include your athlete incidentally; tell us if that is a concern and we will do our best to accommodate it.

Requesting removal

To have a specific image removed, email hello@metropolisli.org with a link or description. We will take it down from anything we control, promptly and without argument. Images already reshared by others may persist beyond our reach.

Alumni

Photographs of former athletes are published with their permission. Alumni who would like an image or listing removed can contact us at the same address.
